This is designed due to security considerations. And the IE 64 bit version opened in the desktop session (vPrefer) but the IE 32 bit version opened as published app.ĭoes anyone know if this is a limit of using vPrefer? or maybe I have missed a configuration somewhere?.īasically, when you enable vPrefer on the client by default it will be configured to 'Allow installed apps' behavior wherein it would exclude the built in applications like notepad, calculator, command prompt etc. So then I published Internet Explorer 64bit and IE 32bit. I noticed that wordpad is the only application that is in Program Files, the other applications are in either C:\windows\system32 or Program Files (x86).
When I launch the shared desktop session, the only published app that launches using the vPrefer feature is Wordpad, all the other apps open as a published application. I have published Notepad, Wordpad, MSTSC, snipping tool etc. I have 1x WS2016 VDA that delivers desktop and applications and has Receiver 4.11 installed and configured to populate the start menu using GPO. I have installed XenDesktop7.17 into a home lab and been playing around with the new vPrefer feature and have come across some limitations and wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.
